Macbeth

[fictional project] Macbeth is one of William Shakespeare’s most important works. This bloody tragedy tells the story of the royal commander Macbeth, who murders the king to fulfill a prophecy made by three witches. Madness, guilt, and paranoia culminate in tyranny and violence until Macbeth himself is murdered in the final act. The posters depict key scenes from Macbeth’s rise and fall through their visual imagery. In the darkness of night, the situations are briefly illuminated by a harsh flash of light. The contrast between the playground and violence is as stark as the contrast between the dot-grid image plane and the precisely aligned typography. The typeface used is Mark Pro, which does not impose itself and does not seek to compete with the image plane. The color yellow serves as a visual unifying element, symbolizing envy and selfishness.
